Project SAIL

Supporting Adolescents in Loss

About This Website

This website was funded by a Channel 7 Telethon Trust, WA grant. The website was evaluated in 2024 in 88 adolescents.

It is suitable for different kinds of grief, covering loss from bereavement through the death of a person, death of a pet, and non-death loss including for example parental separation and divorce, and relationship break-ups.

This intervention is based on cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) which is the leading evidence-based psychological treatment which has been shown in many studies to improve mental health and wellbeing. There is good evidence for face-to-face CBT for grief in adolescents, but no studies of it delivered on the internet. We created this website together with young people. We thank our Youth Advisory Committee of 15 young people who helped to create this website.
