Cool Down Activities
Any time you are finding that doing the program is feeling overwhelming or that you need a break, you can try some of these ideas for cool down activities either after doing a module, or during a module before you come back to it again.
Try to ‘ground’ yourself in the and here and now by trying one of these ideas, or think of your own:
Touching a stone or pebble.
Use five senses (list what you see, hear, smell, touch, taste here and now).
Use a room perfume or burn a scented candle.
Use a weighted/heavy blanket.
Eat a sour lolly or a strong mint.
Pick up an object near you and focus on it.
Listen to music turned up loud.
Play with an object e.g., a ‘fidget’ spinner or stress ball.
