Module 3
Activities and Re-Considering Self-Blame
welcome to Module 3
Introduction and Self Care
Did you try drawing a diagram in Module 2?
So far, we have discussed:
Understanding that grief is normal.
How to draw a diagram about grief and loss.
Today we are going to look at:
Activities and re-considering self-blame.
When thinking about activities in your life, it can also be helpful to reflect on eating and sleeping routines - these are often affected by grief and loss.
Sleep:
If you are having a lot of trouble with sleep (difficulty going to sleep, sleeping a lot), think about downloading the free Sleep Ninja app: Sleep Ninja® - Black Dog Institute | Better Mental Health
Eating:
It’s important to establish regular eating routines, even though it can feel difficult.
Sometimes young people eat too little, and sometimes they find they have times of eating a lot in a short period that can make them feel uncomfortable.
Set a reminder in your phone to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and if you can, include some balanced foods.
Young people feel better when they do not go through long periods of not eating during the day. Ensuring you eat something every 4 hours during the day is a tip.
If you think you need more specific information around issues with eating, see this site: Resources - Butterfly Foundation
Tip. Remember any time you are finding that doing the program is feeling overwhelming or that you need a break, you can try some of the ideas on the tab ‘Cool Down Activities’ either after doing a module, or during a module before you come back to it again.
