Module 7

Looking at Memories and Images, Problem-Solving and Family

Welcome to Module 7!

So far, we have discussed:

  • Understanding that grief is normal.

  • How to draw a diagram about grief and loss.

  • Increasing activities that could be enjoyable and re-considering self-blame.

  • Changing our thinking through experiments.

  • Changing our thinking with continuums and diaries.

  • Working with the loss.

Today we are going to discuss memories and images related to the loss.

Not everyone experiences difficult memories and images. Working with memories and images in the examples we will present is most relevant to bereavement rather than other areas of loss (e.g., parental divorce).

If you find reading through the first part of the module that it does not apply to you, please just skip forward to page 6 of this module to look at problem-solving instead, or the section on getting on with family.

Tip. Remember any time you are finding that doing the program is feeling overwhelming or that you need a break, you can try some of the ideas on the tab ‘Cool Down Activities’ either after doing a module, or during a module before you come back to it again.
